Prah's story continues
Let’s get back to our very own Prah. If you are aware of Prah’s story, then I can sense that one day or the other, you would have crossed paths with her—I mean, someone like her. So diving deeper into Prah’s life, I can say that she is happy… uhmmm, or pretending to be happy? Omg, I got confused. What’s the difference? Both phrases ultimately say that Prah is happy. Uhmm, something is fishy, right? We need to figure this out and help Prah get out of this ASAP.
Mind-boggling riddle
Are you all with me? I hope so. Come on, let’s tackle this riddle and get her out of this confusion.
As far as my knowledge goes, Prah has a lot on her mind. She never opened up to others, let alone herself. She always refused to show or express her desires or feelings, which, on the other hand, bothered her to such an extent that she experienced many sleepless nights.
On the contrary, Prah is that girl—being around whom there are smiles and laughter. She brings positivity and calmness wherever she goes. Most of the time, she does this with her smile alone, under which there is a lot of turmoil.
I think by now you would have figured this out. If not, you will once this tale ends. Let’s dive a bit deeper.
The smiles and struggles
She went through her studies—which scarred the shit out of her. Every time her father confronted her about education, the fear of failure, the fear of not reaching expectations, and the fear of losing the race—which she never wanted to be a part of—filled her mind. But all of this was overlooked by the “smile,” often remarked as a sign of strength.
She was not comfortable with many aspects of what happened or what was happening, yet she could not resist—not even a single thing—because her refusal might run down as tears on someone else’s face or shatter them completely. The things she couldn’t refuse, despite being uncomfortable, were unseen beneath the “smile” that was viewed as good-natured.
There were situations where friends, or someone close to her, hurt her. Sooner or later, she figured out that it was intentional, which left no sense of regret in any of them. The very next day, they came to her and spoke as if nothing had happened—and guess what, she spoke to them too, despite being deeply hurt inside. This pain was overlooked by the “smile” that was viewed as kind-hearted.
There were situations where she got so pissed off by others’ actions that her composure ran out and she burst into tears—because if she expressed her anger, it hurt her even more once it passed. The tears that held the intensity of her anger were unseen beneath the “smile” that was viewed as patience.
The heartache behind the actions she endured, which she always wanted to confront, went unnoticed beneath the smile that was viewed as kindness. She handled every situation with a “smile” that carried a lot of pain, yet she was happy.
Happy that she made her family happy by being the way they wanted.
Happy that her friends and loved ones always came to her—to chat, for help, or for anything else—which kept them happy.
Happy that everyone around her believed they had her support at any cost.
Happy that she didn’t have to become a bag of pain for anyone.
Happy that she smiled and made everyone else smile too.
And she spoke
She spoke to others through her smile.
And she spoke to herself with a pen that ran on paper, which acted as her heart in that moment—relieving her pain as much as possible.
To the people who are curious about how the pen spoke, here it goes:
मुस्कुराती हूँ
दर्द तो छुप जाती हैं।
मुस्कुराती हूँ
गुस्सा तो आती नहीं हैं।
मुस्कुराती हूँ
इंकार तो नहीं की जाती हैं।
मुस्कुराती हूँ
अंदर से तो टूट जाती हैं।
मुस्कुराती हूँ
सीखा तो सिर्फ वही है।
I think you have figured it out.
If yes, then comment down your opinion on Prah—whether she is happy or just pretending to be happy.

See, first things first, you know your game. The article is perfect in the sense of engagement and flow. Second, you struck a chord with this enigmatic character called 'Prah' (which I believe is your story and everyone's story). Finally, THE SHAYARI, cherry on the top, was extremely fantabulous. And...(Drum roll) Final twist, Prah is a Fifth dimensional being with no feelings. So, she is happy or pretending to be happy, doesn't actually matters. Pysche. Just kidding😂. Actually, she is pretending to be happy. 🤞🏼

Delete@ Alex , Haha, you caught her! 🥁 The 'Psych!' moment is real. There’s something beautifully haunting about a 5D being playing dress-up with human emotions, isn't there? She’s basically a cosmic actress performing for an audience of one. Glad the Shayari hit the spot—it was the only way to bridge the gap between her world and ours! 😉
DeleteI think she is pretending to be happy. If it is your story, l'm sending a lot of hugs and love to you. Don't let any one into your life if they hurt you and made you cry there is no need to be nice with them.
ReplyDeleteI'm greatful for your kind gesture, thank you so much for the hugs and the love 🫂. There’s a bit of Prah in all of us. It’s a powerful reminder that we don't owe our 'niceness' to those who don't value our tears. I’ll be keeping your advice close to my heart. Thank you for not just reading the story, but for seeing the soul behind it 🤍.
DeleteThis story quietly hits the heart. Prah feels less like a character and more like someone we’ve all met—or been—at some point. The way her smile is used as both strength and shield is beautifully written and painfully real. It reminds us how often emotions are hidden behind kindness and silence. The ending, where the pen speaks, ties everything together perfectly. A very honest and relatable piece. Sending more love and warm hugs to Prah (and to everyone who saw themselves in her). 🤍🫂
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for such a deeply perceptive and warm comment ♡. You’ve captured exactly what I hoped Prah would represent, that quiet intersection where strength meets the 'shields' we all carry. It’s both beautiful and a bit heartbreaking to realize how many of us speak through silence and kindness when words feel like too much. Knowing that Prah felt 'real' to you is the greatest reward I could ask for as a writer. I’m holding onto those hugs for her (and for that part in all of us that relates to her)🫂. Thank you for being such a thoughtful part of this journey✨.
DeleteI think she is pretending to be happy. I agree with your statement that everyone has faced this kind of situations in their life more than needed.
ReplyDeleteWe create characters like Prah to explore the parts of ourselves we usually keep hidden. You're right..! we’ve all faced those situations "more than needed." Perhaps that’s why her story feels so real; it’s a reflection of the silent strength it takes to keep showing up, even when we’re just playing a part. 🫂😇
DeleteThank you so much for the support and comment on prah's story. I'm so sorry you couldn't find the section, but please know that your message here means just as much. I'm so glad you're enjoying the journey with her.! Lots of love 🤍🫂.
