'Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die' in the Game

Looking upon the title, 'Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die', which feels weird, and the poster of the film with an old man in a weird costume, I was sceptical towards it. But having heard good things about it, I chose to take a leap of faith based on the reviews and thought to give it a try. And I was disappointed after watching it.

Okay, now, not disappointed about the film in a negative sense. But I was disappointed in how foolish I was to have ignored and watched this masterpiece this late.

Talking about the plot, this film's concept feels just like an omelette, known since ages, where the protagonist time travels from the future to the present to save humanity from a catastrophic peril. Damn, the whole 'Terminator' franchise revolves around this concept. The thing to appreciate in this film is that they have made the same old omelette, but with a fresh recipe, which is, no harm in saying it, the best of its kind. And the screenplay was to the point, adding a feather to the cap.

By the climax, this film gave birth to new fears in me regarding AI and how it will shape the upcoming times. Maybe we also need a saviour from the future to warn us and save us from the nearing calamities, if there are any. Now, only time is going to tell.

I believe the climax of a film is what makes it good or great. To play it safe, most films end up with clichéd climaxes, which are good. That's not the case with great films. The climaxes of these films have the audacity to make us reflect back on the themes expressed by them. So, where would you place this film—in the GOOD genre or the GREAT genre? Well, you know my answer already, but what about you?

"I don't know."

Well, that's the reply of a person who hasn't watched it yet. So, guys, pull up your socks, take it up as simple homework, and grade this film.

And I've got a piece of advice for everyone playing the game called 'Life':

"Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die."
