Wouldn't it be awesome if we could time travel? Of course, with that comes power—the power to control time itself. Imagine how cool that would be. But along with that power come consequences we can't possibly foresee.
Speaking of those consequences, one of the most fascinating concepts associated with time travel is the Grandfather Paradox. Imagine travelling back to a time when your grandfather was still an unmarried young man. Now imagine killing him because you despise him with every fibre of your being.
Here's the big question: if your grandfather dies before having children, your parent is never born. If your parent is never born, then how do you exist to travel back in time and kill your grandfather in the first place?
That's why it's called a paradox. It creates an endless dilemma with no definitive answer. As of now, we have no solid proof of how such a situation would unfold—unless someone has actually experienced it. We do have countless theories proposed by scientists, each suggesting different possibilities.
But, for a change, why don't we experience it ourselves?
How? Well, in reality, the greatest minds on Earth are working day and night trying to solve this mystery. Cheers to them. But fiction has already found countless ways to explore it, allowing us to experience possibilities that science can only theorise about for now.
And hailing from that world of fiction is one beautiful film—NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE—which uses time travel as a storytelling device perfectly, without any unnecessary nonsense.
No spoilers here, but I highly recommend watching the Back to the Future films beforehand, as this movie heavily relies on their references.
Not just its sci-fi elements—even the way this film is made is unlike anything I've seen before. Before watching it, I was quite sceptical. The title felt weird, and honestly, the film itself didn't spark even an iota of interest in me. But I put those thoughts aside and decided to give it a chance.
What can I say?
IT MADE MY DAY.
Me blabbering about it won't do the film justice. So just watch it before I say anything more.
Lastly, a piece of advice from my side.
In this journey called life, we meet countless people. Sometimes, we're forced to let a few of them go in the pursuit of what the world calls success. But no matter what happens, never let go of the people who are always ready to do crazy things with you—simply for the joy of doing them with you.
Because those are the people who give life its meaning.
Otherwise, what exactly are you going to do with your so-called "success"?
Still reading the blog?
God! You need to be hit by a bolt of lightning.
Not literally.
What I actually mean is—you need to have a sip of Orbitz, the drink that apparently comes with a bolt of lightning in every bottle.
(Those who've already watched the film are probably smiling right now.)
Okay then, till next time.
Take care, be happy, and goodbye.
P.S. If you're interested, you can also watch NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW for an even better experience. Trust me, though—you won't miss anything if you watch the film first. It works perfectly well as a standalone.
Hey... you're still here?
Go watch it.
