The Poetry behind "Into the Wild"

Hello, my fellow Vitaphiles! Welcome back to the club. Today, I'm going to recommend a movie that is both poetic and philosophical. "Into the Wild" is a movie that has had the biggest influence on my life, inspired by a book of the same name, written by Jon Krakauer. In this blog, I'll be discussing with you why "Into the Wild" is a cinematic masterpiece that resonates deeply with us.

The story of Christopher McCandless, the protagonist begins with a bold declaration of independence. A bright and ambitious student, Christopher graduates and promptly rejects the conventional path. Disillusioned with societal expectations and the monotony of a 9-to-5 job, he makes a radical decision: to donate his entire savings to charity, abandon his car, and embark on a journey with nothing but a backpack and an insatiable thirst for adventure. It was evident that Christopher would break away from his family at some point, but they didn't expect it to be with such characteristic immoderation, and that's the beauty of Christopher.

As Christopher travels the world, he relies on odd jobs to sustain himself. When he was probed about career he says "I think careers are a 20th-century invention, and I don't want one." His journey is a testament to the power of self-discovery. What's striking about Christopher's story is the way he defies expectations. His family anticipates that he'll eventually break free from the constraints of his upbringing, they didn't expect it to be with such characteristic immoderation, and that's what makes his story so captivating.

Once he hits the road, Christopher changes his name to "Alexander Supertramp," with "tramp" referring to a wandering free spirit, always on the move and never settling in one place. The very idea of leaving everything to embark on an adventurous journey may seem stupid and pointless to someone, but believe he did it with utmost clarity and never looked back, there's a lot of inspiration behind his decision. Christopher's love of reading has ignited a passion within him, fueled by the works of literary giants like Leo Tolstoy, Walt Whitman, and Henry David Thoreau. These authors have inspired generations with their writings and philosophical standpoints, and I'm proud to say that the very gist of our club is based on the writings of these prolific writers.

"Rather than love, than money, than faith, than fame, than fairness... give me truth" is a dialogue from the movie, an extract from Leo Tolstoy's works. I bet that pretty much sums up why Christopher broke out. This movie is so full of life that you can't help but fall in love with it, and it will leave you pondering about life for a long time. McCandless's take on life is an inspiration to all truth seekers across the world, and I believe we are similar in that respect. We are like vibrant birds that aren't meant to be caged. Never let the unwavering free spirit in you dwindle. Please take some time to watch this film; as you reach the climax, you'll realize that this movie is both retrospective and undeniably beautiful. His story is a testament to the human spirit's innate desire for freedom and authenticity, and it also sparks a newfound love for travel, which is essential for experiencing life.

What makes "The Alchemist" so magical?

Howdy, fellow Vita-philes! Today, I'm thrilled to recommend "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho, a novel that has left an indelible mark on my heart. As my first book, it blew my mind. In this blog, I won't be summarizing or reviewing the book. Instead, I'll share how to immerse yourself in its transformative journey. "The Alchemist" is more than just a book – it's a quest for self-discovery, spiritual exploration, and the pursuit of one's dreams.

This captivating tale not only tells a story but also imparts valuable life lessons one can apply extensively to all walks of  life. It's a beautiful novel of dreams, friendships, wisdom, love, and relentless optimism. As you delve into the world of Santiago, the protagonist, you'll find yourself overwhelmed by his courage, resilience, and determination. His journey will inspire you to reflect on your own path, sparking a renewed sense of purpose and passion.

One can develop a deep sense of empathy while reading a book, no matter what people say; books will make you more empathetic, It's the most admirable quality of a human being. The best way to read this is to put yourself in Santiago's shoes and draw parallels between his experiences and your own. As you journey with him through hardships and resilience, you'll find that his dreams and aspirations resonate deeply with your own. However, it's essential to recognize that our individual pursuits shouldn't lead us to disregard the diverse paths of others. Santiago's remarkable integrity shines through as he selflessly helps those he encounters, never complaining or faltering in his purpose. This unwavering commitment to his values is a powerful lesson, reminding us that people should strive to embody such compassion, empathy, and integrity.

Despite being a novel of intense values, it never fails to engage us in the great thrill. On his quest, Santiago meets with many experiences, each one leaving a mark of its own. As Santiago embarks on his transformative journey, he encounters a diverse array of experiences, each leaving an indelible mark. One of the novel's greatest strengths is its thoughtful exploration of complex scientific and spiritual concepts. As the protagonist maneuvers through great skills, it becomes evident that "Magic is believing in Ourselves".

Another engaging part is the warm love story he comes across in his mid-journey. As we walk through the last pages of  "The Alchemist," we discover a stunning twist, expertly crafted to leave a lasting impression on readers. In short, "The Alchemist" is a must-read for anyone seeking a unique and captivating literary experience. It's simple to read, even for beginners, thus making it more appealing. Trust me, folks, it'll offer you a profound experience I promise you.........

Welcoming Address

Welcome, everyone, to Vitaphiles! I'm thrilled to see so many like-minded individuals gathered here.I'd like to extend my heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to each of you for being an integral part of this community. Vitaphiles is my brainchild, and I have been meaning to start this for a long time & I'm ecstatic to see it finally come to life.

Let's start by understanding our club's name, "Vitaphiles." "Vita" means "life," and "phile" refers to "a person who loves something." Thus, we are a group of people who love and live by the creed of eudaemonism of life, primarily focusing on happiness, which is the reason we live.

I'm really flabbergasted by the response you've shown. You guys are really awesome! I'm sure your careers keep you occupied, leaving little time for extracurricular activities - and I don't blame you. However, despite our hectic schedules, we still have a lot of leisure time, where often finds ourselves retracting to the couch or bed, scrolling through reels, leading to a condition called "brain rot" ,where we get bored too easily, diminishing the spark within us.

This is where our club comes in- to reignite that spark by involving you in provocative activities such as movies, music, and books - especially books. Unfortunately, the joy of reading seems to be fading away in recent times, and we hope that, in some way we can revive that lost art.

Here in our club, we have a curated collection of physical books and e-books, which will be shared among members based on your interests. I strongly believe that everyone should develop the habit of reading books. It helps you foster a profound sense of empathy once you embark on this journey.

We understand that reading might not be everyone's cup of tea, at least not initially. No worries we'll also provide movie recommendations, each movie will spark a newfound interest on life itself. Our carefully selected films are designed to be thought-provoking, emotionally resonant, and impactful – much like the books we offer.

Coming to the music, it is a universal language that transcends borders and genres. As someone who firmly believes that "Music is the strongest form of magic," I'm excited to share some eclectic music suggestions.

So, let's not succumb to apathy! Embark with us on this adventure, and together, let's make our lives more enriching......
