हम सब की 'कथा'...

सबको ऐसी फ़िल्में पसंद होती हैं, जिनमें हँसी-मज़ाक हो, हल्का-फुल्का रोमांस हो और साथ ही कोई संदेश भी हो। जैसे 'कथा' फ़िल्म में नसीरुद्दीन शाह जी, विजय तेंडुलकर जी के एक नाटक, 'पंछी ऐसे आते हैं', का ज़िक्र करते हैं। और सबसे मज़ेदार बात तो यह है कि, ख़ुद 'कथा' की कथा भी कुछ ऐसी ही है—थोड़ा हँसी-मज़ाक, हल्का-फुल्का रोमांस और एक खूबसूरत संदेश।

मैं यह कहने में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ता कि आजकल की फ़िल्मों में वह बात नहीं रही, जो उस ज़माने की फ़िल्मों में हुआ करती थी। और हमारी यह शानदार फ़िल्म 'कथा' भी उसी दौर की है।

कुछ दिन पहले, जब मुझे इस फ़िल्म के बारे में पता चला, तो मैंने सोचा कि आख़िर इसमें ऐसी क्या ख़ास बात हो सकती है। ऊपर से यह 1982 की पुरानी फ़िल्म थी। लेकिन यूट्यूब पर पड़ी थी, तो बिना ज़्यादा सोचे-समझे डाउनलोड कर ली। फिर जैसे-जैसे समय बीतता गया, मैं इसे देखने से टालता गया। एक दिन मेरे पास समय तो था, लेकिन देखने के लिए कोई फ़िल्म नहीं थी, सिवाय इस पुरानी फ़िल्म 'कथा' के। और फिर क्या... जैसे-जैसे मैं इसे देखता गया, वैसे-वैसे इस फ़िल्म के जादू में मंत्रमुग्ध होता गया।

थोड़ा-बहुत इस फ़िल्म के बारे में भी बात कर लेते हैं। सदियों पुरानी कछुए और खरगोश की दौड़ की कहानी से इस फ़िल्म की शुरुआत होती है। लेकिन दौड़ के अंत में खरगोश ही सिकंदर बनकर निकलता है।

रुकिए ज़रा... यह क्या बात हुई? जीतना तो कछुए को चाहिए था, है ना? तो जिसे भी खरगोश की जीत के पीछे का कारण जानना है, उसे तो यह फ़िल्म देखनी ही पड़ेगी।

और याद रखिए, यह ऐसी कहानी भी नहीं है कि देख ली और फिर भूल गए। बल्कि जीवन के इस सफ़र में, इस कहानी का संदेश बहुत मायने रखता है। और आज की इस पल-पल बदलती दुनिया के लिए, यह फ़िल्म किसी मार्गदर्शक से कम नहीं।

तो इसी बात पर चलो मित्रों, जिन्होंने अभी तक इस महान फ़िल्म को नहीं देखा है, तो आपका समय आ गया है। सीधी बात—ज़िंदगी बदल देगी आपकी, यह 'कथा'।

Hum Sab Ki 'Katha'...

Sabko aisi filmein pasand hoti hain, jinmein hansi-mazaak ho, halka-phulka romance ho aur saath hi koi sandesh bhi ho. Jaise 'Katha' film mein Naseeruddin Shah ji, Vijay Tendulkar ji ke ek naatak, 'Panchi Aise Aate Hain', ka zikr karte hain. Aur sabse mazedaar baat to yeh hai ki, khud 'Katha' ki katha bhi kuch aisi hi hai—thoda hansi-mazaak, halka-phulka romance aur ek khoobsurat sandesh.

Main yeh kehne mein koi kasar nahi chhodta ki aajkal ki filmon mein woh baat nahi rahi, jo us zamaane ki filmon mein hua karti thi. Aur hamari yeh shandaar film 'Katha' bhi usi daur ki hai.

Kuch din pehle, jab mujhe is film ke baare mein pata chala, to maine socha ki aakhir ismein aisi kya khaas baat ho sakti hai. Upar se yeh 1982 ki purani film thi. Lekin YouTube par padi thi, to bina zyada soche-samjhe download kar li. Phir jaise-jaise waqt beetta gaya, main ise dekhne se taalta gaya. Ek din mere paas waqt to tha, lekin dekhne ke liye koi film nahi thi, siwaye is purani film 'Katha' ke. Aur phir kya... jaise-jaise main ise dekhta gaya, waise-waise is film ke jaadu mein mantramugdh hota gaya.

Thoda-bahut is film ke baare mein bhi baat kar lete hain. Sadiyon purani Kachue aur Khargosh ki daud ki kahani se is film ki shuruaat hoti hai. Lekin daud ke ant mein Khargosh hi Sikandar bankar nikalta hai.

Rukiye zara... yeh kya baat hui? Jeetna to Kachue ko chahiye tha, hai na? To jise bhi Khargosh ki jeet ke peeche ka kaaran jaana hai, use to yeh film dekhni hi padegi.

Aur yaad rakhiye, yeh aisi kahani bhi nahi hai ki dekh li aur phir bhool gaye. Balki jeevan ke is safar mein, is kahani ka sandesh bahut maayne rakhta hai. Aur aaj ki is pal-pal badalti duniya ke liye, yeh film kisi margdarshak se kam nahi.

To isi baat par chalo mitron, jinhone abhi tak is mahaan film ko nahi dekha hai, to aapka samay aa gaya hai. Seedhi baat—zindagi badal degi aapki, yeh 'Katha'.

To dekh lijiye. Milte hain phir. Apna khayaal rakhiye, aur hanste rahiye.

But since it was available on YouTube, I downloaded it without giving it much thought. As time passed, I kept putting it off. Then one day, I had plenty of time but nothing to watch except this old film, Katha. And then... as I kept watching it, I found myself becoming more and more captivated by its magic.

Now, let's talk a little about the film itself. It begins with the age-old tale of the race between the Tortoise and the Hare. But this time, it is the Hare who emerges victorious.

Wait a second... how is that possible? Wasn't the Tortoise supposed to win? Well, if you want to know why the Hare wins this race, you'll have to watch the film yourself.

And remember, this isn't the kind of story you watch once and forget. Its message carries immense significance throughout life's journey. In today's ever-changing world, this film is nothing less than a guide.
